Ceelo got to carry around Poppy's pack saddle today & was mighty proud of himself! His adopters plan on making him their hiking buddy, which is a perfect job for him. Little Ceelo man! ![]() The new Dave Freeman DVD is almost here! It's going through it's last stages of previews & edits. After Dave approves it, it'll be produced & ready to buy! The DVD will include how to trim your animal, how to use a stand, how to safely and humanely use ropes to help your animal over come it's fear of having it's feet handled. Watch Fancy & Leroy the donkeys as Dave demonstrates all the techniques. Then you get to see Lily the donkey, who had been hardly handled at all, get her first trim @ hithger. Then as a bonus you get a point of view video of someone who has never trimmed before, actually trim for the first time! Plus five whole minutes of gag reel! The clinic will cover starting your donkey under saddle and introduction to cart. WHERE: June 16, here at our place, at the end of "Bend in the Road way", one and a half miles north of the town of Artois, CA, right off of Old Highway 99W. Clinic starts at 10am $30 for one person with up to two donkeys, $10 to audit. Bring a harness and cart, if you've got it, for driving. We do have two harnesses available to use, suited for medium sized standard donkeys. Pot luck after the clinic Here are the latest donkeys to come into the rescue. James is around 9 and Lily is 4. Both are fairly tall. I'm guessing 12.3 to 13 hands. Both are wary of people, so they'll be worked with before becoming available for adoption. Dave gave them both a good brushing last night. Not sure that they've ever been brushed before. :)

AuthorFor well over 2 decades, Ginny Freeman has taken in, cared for and re-homed a multitude of donkeys, horses, mules and hinnies. She has personally tended to each and every animal's needs, making sure that they are brought up to date with vaccinations, hoof care, de-worming, and overall general health.
